Announcing an announcement
I am very excited to start maybe possibly thinking about making an announcment…about another announcement.
OK, let’s make it a bit (but not too much) clearer.
This summer- in the next few weeks actually- I’ll be completing my largest ASOIAF project to date. Said project has been in various forms for well over a year, and I am now startlingly close to finishing the base material or first draft or whatever you would like to call it.
Without a doubt, there’ll be heaps of editing to do, and even after that there is much more research to do as this project incorporates something new for me. This next project is, hopefully, going to wind up as a self-published book through the Amazon model.
It is daunting and thrilling at the same time, and requires several hundred more hoops to launch myself through, but that’s all fine. Because I think this could end up as something pretty cool.
Anyway, as I say, it is some time away still, but I can see the finish line upon the horizon, and I’m glad to be able to share the news with you. Normally my ASOIAF work is joined with others who are more already established, such as Tower of the Hand or History of Westeros. This particular project is something I struck out on my own to do, and I sincerely doubt it will be everyone’s cup of tea, but I am proud of what I’ve done.
In fact, the brilliant @liesandarbor is the only one I’ve even discussed this with. Luckily, she did not laugh or ridicule me. I have chosen to accept this as A GOOD THING.
The closer I go, the more you’ll know, but for now I’m getting back to the Grindstone so that the day I can share it with you all can come that little bit closer.
All of my thanks,
